How do some guys 'shave' their front fork boots?

There not shaved, I think your talking about the short sleek non ribbed boots that some guys are running.... They call them seal savers or something...?

How do yuo guys keep the seal savers from sliding up? I have them on my motorcycle and they keep sliding up the forks.
