Join the club! Wack the sh!t out of it with a rubber or lead filled mallet. If it still don't move, hit it with a steel hammer (use the nut to protect the threads), if that don't work, hit it bang on but you may/will wreck the threads this way. Final way is the sawzall! That's what mine took. Now I pop it (the bolt) off every year and lube the hell out of it. You're lucky it's an 85, as the bolts are fairly easy to find on e-bay. If it was an 84...oh boy!

Do a search. Lots of people have ran into this issue and discussed it in other threads. Use the search at the top of the screen:welcome:

try riding the trike with the nut off. Keep an eye on it though. Mine was really stuck as well but after riding the **** out of it, it broke loose.

I used an air hammer on mine. Took me about 2 hours for working it back and forth but it came out with out any damage to the bolt or anything else.

As Taiser pointed out, screw the nut back on just enough till it's flush with the end of the bolt. Then break out the sledge.
