Heres my RARE 82mm mystery bigbore kit its the bare one on the left next to a 300r kit. It reqiires boring the cases, stroking the crank and running an odyssey 350 piston to run this bad mofo!

I'll try and get pics and post tomorrow. I'm not feeling very good, think I'm catching a cold and I have to go to work at 10pm tonight to begin my week of midnight shifts. But I really have to say. Pretty much anyone with a trike or a nos or new aftermarket part has something rare. There are fewer of these trikes everyday. Even though money has done alot to bring out some of the really crazy stuff, every trike owner has their own rare trike.

Re: 250r question
Daddio,
You may have stumbled across a very rare top end that was only available to Team Honda directly from Japan. We were sent Team specific 350cc engine package from Japan. If the cylinder you have is in fact one of those, you have scored!
You should measure the height of the cylinder. You may find that it is a bit longer than the 300 cylinder. This is because part of the 350 kit was also a crankshaft with a little longer stroke to complete the 350cc package.
We race tested a number of of the 350cc "kits" in open class competition with excellent results! Ultimately Honda decided that a "bolt-on" kit would be a better seller due to ease of installation, hence the well known 300cc kits.
Did the head also come with the cylinder? Since it appears you have a number of similar parts such as the 300 cylinder and the idiossy cylinder, you could use one of those haeds and modify it to work as I believe they all shared the same bolt pattern and spacing.
You would then need to see if you can score the proper crankshaft or at minimum have a stock 250 crank stroked to 69 or 70 mm to complete your
350cc kit. Once again, nice find! Keep digging, you may be able to uncover the rest of the parts!
I think the counter balancer was also a bit different as well and also came from Japan with the rest of the 350cc parts. If you can't find those parts I feel you will still find the 350 kit worthwhile to have 250 parts modified to complete the conversion.
Honda Japan also sent water cooled top-end parts for our 84 model trikes! The parts were also "bolt-on" deals. I personally had all of the brackets and radiators custom made for all of our conversions!
I still have a few of these "kits" myself and currently have one installed on my original 1981 model
ATC250R racer.
Good luck and ride safely.

When it showed up here we measured the bore. It measured 80mm. It used to be red and has never been used. It isn't a mugen 360 and the 300s have a 76mm bore. There are no manufacturers marks on it. It also isn't an odyssey cylinder. We were wondering if you had ever heard of any other companies that made big bore cylinders for the old Rs back in the 80s?. Here are a few pics.

You just may be right about howdys' trike. I haven't seen anything about it since it went to trikefest that one year. I remember following the thread of how he got the boxes 1 by 1 and that he said his mailman or ups guy was hating him, but how he thought the trike was cool. I still like to think that everyone with a trike has their own rare machine though.
Okay here is my rare trike the one and only GPX 177.

Original grab bars for a 350x and a water cooled 250R in awesome condition.
Restored 1986 250R +2 Westcoast swinger.
Got two sets of those NASA adjustable fork caps also. Probably other items that I'm just not thinking about right now.
I'd let the grab bars go for the rightprice. The NASA caps and the Westcoast are going on my R though. I just need to buy a longer chain first.

I also have several speedo heads, drives, and kits, a used 300r kit, and of course some Nos headlight guards. Im sure i have more but its all up in the attic.

A buddy Found 2 86' 250R motors in a closet at the school he works for. they told him to throw them away!!!! He grabbed em' and brought to the house. I was able to buy one for $200.00. The other was traded for a fourwheeler. The motor I have has never been touched. Still has the hacked off cables hanging from it. Complete with vin # on a hang tag.

My rare or different stuff would include my 200R with moto-plat ignition and short track tank and 2 extra 200R seats. TriZtunes just bought one from me. Three custom 200R pipes made by Bill's,Selvy sectional, and Paul Turner. Each for a different race set up. I would have to consider my restored 250R semi-rare just because I bought so many new OEM parts and all plastic. It has a chrome Bill's 250R pipe which you cannot hardly find with a coffmans silencer. I have a set of the Blue duro tires not mounted. 250R short track tank and shrouds with out the mounts, The white 250R front overfender still in the package, the metal front fender stabilizer still in the pack. 250r headlight guard and the glass protector screen. I have 3 '85 250R seats, one is like new. I have original 1984 and 1985 ATC hondaline accesory catalogs. 250R ad's. Tecate 3 brochure and ad posters, and a bunch of other old promotional stuff. I will have to go and look through it all to see what is there. Just sold most of my Tiger parts. Still have the rear fenders, radiator, number plate, frame, forks, rear brake set up, and maybe a couple other parts. Nothing really rare about my 85 Big Red except maybe the trailer hitch. I will have to go look through my boxes and see what else I have. I will post pictures of what ever I have stored in my computer now. I have some that i will have to resize. I think the only pics already resized are the 200R and 250R. I live in a town house without a garage so all my stuff is stored at my parents house.

1st gen. TECATE parts: u.f.o. airbox, WP rear shock, durablue hubs and 6" over axle, front tri-trac tire, roost boost, +2 chrome franks swingarm, +4 westcoast swingarm, complete bassani exhaust, complete klemm research exhaust. Big Red parts: every single possible hondaline accessory made.
What about your Cal Fab tank? At TF i noticed you had your Big Red Hondaline mud flaps zip tied on, do you have the mounting kit for them? If not I think I still have a used kit kicking around somewheres if you want them i'll hook ya up, i had a NOS mounting kit but i sold them awhile back.

Thanks freaks, I do have the kit, the reason I have them zip-tied is because I have that larger-extended rear rack on the bike, and the kit wouldn't work with it. I also have a canadian version ATC 110 with FRONT SUSPENSION and complete hondaline spedo kit on it. I think its rare, cant say as I've seen another one.
