spent 4 hours yesterday and 2 hours today checking everything on my 225dx, trying to figure out why it won't start with the electric starter (pull starter broke)
gave up yanked her in 4th gear with the john deere fired right up....so i let it idle called the neighbor and went for a 3 hour ride. I love this thing even though that starter is giving me trouble.

well today was one hell of a day. morning my son and his teammate raced the peewee class in cross country racing. pretty rough area and I'm supprised at the hills they had the kids climbing. I played chase/support during practice day before and support during the race. this did NOT prepair me for what was to come on the BIG adult races in the afternoon my friend (teammate's son's dad) ran. I knew they raced cross country, but holy Chit!!!!! They ran hills and areas that were up the sides of a mountain and back down. it was krazy!!! 100X more tuffer than the kids stuff. I ride my triek all over the place during practice to support and also during the race to support my friend. My hopepd up big red definatly shpwed it's true teeth today! it not only handled everyhtign I threw at it w/o a problem, it went palces evenn the heffer 4x4 quads could or would not go. LOL that thing is AWESOME! and nimble as cat with the strength of a Lion on the prowl! I had a blast and probebly as tuff or worse a time than the racers cause half the places I went, there wer no trails I made my own! LOL
anyway, it was an awesome weekend and we loved every moment of it!
kids came in 4th and 5tha nd friend came in 4th. not too bad a race weekend!

Got a dirtbike so my SX isn't lonely in the garage. $100 XR200. Took the engine out to find why it was seized....someone broke the tip of a flat head screw driver in it. Seized the piston. Got it freed, cylinder is good, had to grind a little off the piston so it didn't protrude but it's good now.

Since I have 2 350X's now, I have been alternating between them. They both have the same 36 toooth rear sprockets, stock 22 inch rear tires. And they are Alot different . The one with the 12-1 piston and the cam has alot more low end, but does'nt like to wheelie in 6th, the other on just has an 11-1 piston, no cam,, and it will bring the front end up in 6th no problem.
I am still having jetting issues with the first one. It is running lean on the top end. It runs great though.

Walked outside this morning and realized I had been robbed . Something found the granola bar that was left over from the last fall ride in the trunk of the 200S. Pulled all 5 trikes, and golf cart/quad abomination, and a bunch of other stuff outta my buddies barn, so we could reorganize. With organisation we have 5 trikes, 2 snowmobiles, an F450, and the golfcart/quad abomination, we figure we have room for at least 3-5 new three wheelers :Bounce

Took it out, rode the snot out of it!! It handles so much better with the new forks on it!!!
I took the day off, and took my 83 200E fishing. we caught nothing but had fun riding. I gotta get some pics up of my trike. kinda hesitant to do it, because I ain't what ya call rich, and it doesn't look as good as the bikes on here. she runs perfect though and everything works on it like it did the day it left the factory.
I still have a lot to do on it. so far I have new axle bearings and seals, new batt, new rear brakes and new Vesrah clutch plates.
also I drilled the rear axle tube and put in a zerk fitting and filled it with grease.
I put a homemade front fender on it, that must be seen to be believed,LMAO! next is a new steering stem Tapered bearing kit from Moose Racing and cables for my hand brakes. found the cables on Ebay for 16 bucks each shipped. then I want a new plastic tank as my old one is patched with JB weld for now.
the forks were shot at one time and must be the wheel would fall off because someone drilled holes thru and put bolts in in each fork so a good used set of forks are down the road as well. its my primary rider, and I'll take it anywhere. she SIPS gas and runs great all day with nary a complaint.
this winter will be fresh paint and new decals. yes lol, those are Arctic Cat Ski loops holding the fender off the tire lol, it works great (for now) till I get my real fender. sorry about the crappy cell phone pic!

my buddy came over to help me pull them all out and to get the 70 to the basement to tear into this winter. let the 125 run for about 15mins. put the original brake lever back on the zinger. then took turns running it around the yard. zinger was on it today, best it's ran yet. wish i had the camera out. thing was cheesecake to wheelie today and got seriously sideways shooting around the truck quite a few times shooting mini-roosts.
EDIT:
Don't know what alot of that means..but it sounds fun!!
the zinger was wanting to pop a wheelie with out even trying and i hang off the side to slide it sideways (flat track style) kicking up a dirt roost while going around the front of my parked truck. it usually dogs a bit and catches traction wanting to highside, but it was running good today and keep the tires spinning.
sorry that better?

Over the last week or so, I finally finished tearing my 350X beater apart and sent the frame off to TPC for gussetting.
While that's out for work, I'm cleaning up the major sub-assemblies. I started with the forks. I took them apart and bead blasted the tripples and the fork lowers. This is my first major use of my bead blaster and it's awesome!
One of the fork tubes is bent so it goes to the shop for tweaking this week.
And, the Loncin 200X got a longer shifter. The shift shaft is in the same location as a Honda 200x engine but the shaft is shorter so a 200x shifter won't clear the stator cover. The Loncin shifter was about 2 inches too short - it was a pain to ride with - I have big feet. I spent about 2 hours looking and shifter pictures on eBay and found a heel & toe shifter from a Chinese quad that looked like it would work. Cut off the heel part and it works fine.

SOooooo, as I set and patiently (HA HA, yeah right!) wait, in between obsessively tracking my package on the Fedex site, I decided to go ahead and strip my stator and clutch covers. I'm going to just polish them up myself. Got the stator cover pretty darn descent today with some Mothers Mag Polish and a Powerball... Duneworthy?... no. But not too shabby. Pulled 3 of the 70s in and put thier new points in. Got them all running good. Noticed on the last one that the frame was a little bent so I fixed that. Then decided to make a new steering stop for it. Pulled the forks out so I wouldnt cook the bearings welding it on, then decided the forks needed sanded and painted. Now the whole thing is in a hundred peices. Another project I was not planning on doing. I admit I have a problem.

Today was a very busy day.Installed new forks on the 350x after replacing seals.Removed the trees and greased up all those little bearings.New front wheel bearings. The worst job was removing the nuts for the exhaust header.I figured since everything was out of my way might as well do it now.Took my time and was in no hurry. With the torch and patience all went well.Should have took a picture of how rusty things were. The motor is coming out for new valve seals and a clean up.

Took the front wheel off the 87 BR to mount a dirt devil on it. Also dug up all my 90 110 parts and started reorganizing them. Damn near 20 big boxes full.

Put the freshly painted exhaust back on the 125M I'm getting ready for my daughter. Of course now that the nice looking exhaust is on, the frame looks oh so nasty and its taking all my self control to not have the thing in a million pieces and start sending parts out for powdercoating. I popped a new battery in it, fiddled with the carb a little and tore some odds and ends off for cleaning. Once the new bearings, brakes, and what not show up it'll get wrapped up and left alone (for now) so she can play on the ice if we get any this year. You can bet your arse that dad will be playing with it too. :)

Today yanked the engine out of the 350x for new valve seals, decomp seal and a clean up and paint.I was on pins and needles removing all the rocker box bolts.Doesn't look like the valves were ever adjusted.Plus I noticed the shock settings have never been moved. The yellow paint is still all in line.

Loaded Ol' Red on the trailer and went to my parents place with the wife and kids for a big family Christmas party. Loaded a couple of pistols and some ammo up on the rack and did some blasting with my brothers and brother-in-law. Then I took my kids and some nieces and nephews for rides till I got a flat... I hate tubed tires...
So, I had to finish giving rides to the kiddos on Dad's Rancher 350....
Merry Christmas everybody!

got the tecate out. found a trail thru some fields. alot of straightaways. and really gave the tecate all she had. i weigh 280lbs, and the power this thing makes is oh so sweet. it literally pulls power wheelies thru 4th gear when it hits the power band. ive never had a bike do this before.. im loving it. also aired up the tires on my 250r to move it around in my garage to get my banshee out of the corner, so i can finish the engine install on it, and hopefully get her to fire up on a complete bottom up rebuild

I took the rear axle/brakes/carrier and the front hub and brakes off of the 125M yesterday and brought them to work try to do some of the stuff they needed today since we have the presses and stuff to make the bearings easy to do. Luckily it was a slow day so I was able to do all of it. Front and rear brakes, bearings, seals, and cleaned up a bunch of little bits along the way. Gonna try to reasseble it Saturday morning and take it for a little ride. I think that when my daughter isn't riding it I just may use it as a booze cruiser out on the lake. Electric start and not a lot of power makes it ideal.

Got the black paint off of the pipe and side cover. Anybody know anything about this pipe? I was told by a couple dudes that it is a rare one. I contacted FMF, but without a part number they can't tell me or they don't know anything. I think the motor will look better black, just not with the flat black the last owner did.

put my spare carb together for my 85r. got it to finally idle on its own, which im guessing is because of this carb. took the bike out for a few runs, and it is running really lean. went from a 142 main to a 145, but it is still to lean. so i have no choice but to wait till the jets i ordered earlier this week to show up. and hopefully get my airbox that i bought here also, and install the airbox, richen the mains up a few more sizes and hopefully get this r to scream its ass off alot harder than my tecate right now. haha
also managed to get the r all muddy thanks to the rain we got today and the closest gravel road i could try riding this thing on

Well, got the Gen II out this afternoon and made a list of stuff I've got to get, change, modify, or buy before the Imperial Invasion comes around. Have to be ready this year.
It's a short list though as long as I get two things done each day, I should make it in time. :wondering

threw the 70 back together the other day, so i don't have parts everywhere to get lost.
then today i was looking at the pegs, the old rubbers are toast. got to thinking what i might have around handy to try out. came across some old junk BMX pegs and figured why not.
don't look bad, but i think i'll switch to my J-pegs. they're a slightly smaller Dia. and way lighter (about half the weight).
