View Full Version : tecate battery, is it possible ,help

was wanting to put a battery on my tecate 85, to run some extra lights,and if i would hook up the yellow wire that is the lighting coil wire, to the battery, to charge the battery ,and run the lights off the battery ,would that work .was wondering if any 1 tried anything like, that any info would help thanks jeff

I was in the process of doing this, but it's kinda on the back burner. I got the perfect battery to do it with, too.

Here's as far as I got with it. I still might skrew with it.

Yes it is possible, you will need a single phase rectifier/regulator to change the AC power over to DC to charge the battery. I have a new extra one I'd sell for cheap. PM me if interested.
