Thinking about buying this cam:

for my bike. Seams pretty cheap. I have driven quads all my life and just sold my Polaris sportsman 500 (lift kit, winch, all the goodies) go sick of maintaining it every year. Lot's of fluids to change, plus it was very heavy. I have more fun on my 110 wth the Cobra exhaust and 24mm carb but just think if I install one of these it will give me that little extra boost on the low end. My question is, I have read the manual and it seams pretty straight forward to install this. Probably under an hour or so. Is it that easy or is shimmming involved and other stuff I am not aware of?

Thanks for the replies

I put this cam in my 1982 110. It was very straight forward, very simple to install. I had to make a longer advancer pin. The nose of the cam, where the bolt goes, is shorter than the stock 110 cam. This is because it was made for the 90 motors. All I did was use a longer bolt than the stock one.

I don't know how much more bottom end the cam gave me, but it gives a big boost to mid-range and top end. It picks up a lot of rpm on the the big end. It made the 110 much more fun to ride. I would definitely recommend this cam. I bought mine from Beatrice's ebay store. Same price, but free shipping. rule of thumb is a cam like that (low lift with tons of duration) is more of a high rev cam.

this is how my TC high rev cam is. to get some low end snap i'd say you would have to raise the compression up, but this is hard to do since you cant buy high comp pistons over the counter for these motors.

Cam came in today, took me 20 minutes to install. Let me tell you, made a huge differnence on the low end and small amount on the mid range. For $25, this is probably one of the easiest, cheapeast upgrades you can do on the 110.

Thanks for the direction dazjr.
