View Full Version : replacing honda 110 handbrake
I see that the lever has to be slipped down the handlebars....take off the switch ('82) then....how do I get the darn hand grip off the end of the handlebar. the thing won't budge.

some of them are bolted down on the end of the handle bars.

take the bolt off the end and pry her up then spray hair spray down it and itll come lose no worries!!!!!!!!!

The simplest way I have ever found to remove a hand grip is to use a blow gun ( air compressor ). If there is a bolt in the end of it remove the bolt and blow air into hole on the grip. The air will make the grip expand a little and slide off. To put it back on do the same thing but push it as you go.
Doing them this way takes about 3 minutes to replace both grips. I even Use this to salvage good grips on bad handle bars.
I thought I better add if the grips aren't bolted on then you should have someone hold the other side grip. Sometimes they will be the one wanting to come off first. Also on unbolted ones you may need to poke a small hole ( nail ) in the end to get the air in there.
