the 200m setup has 11 tooth front and about a 47 tooth rear
the 200x setup has 12 tooth front and about a 40 tooth rear
I am also thinking about putting on the head and cam from the x

I am only familiar with stock 200m performance since my 200x was broke when I got it
compared to stock 200m performance what can I expect ?
should I stick with stock x main sprocket or should i drop to the 11 tooth m sprocket

which would be better for getting up hills where speed/momentum is lacking due to tight trails?

it will probably even out, you will lose some power because the 200x has more power than the 200m, but you will probably lose to top speed and gain some acceleration

Pulled the cam from the 200x and both intake and exhaust lobes are wore by about 1/4 inch. What is the likley reson for this and could this acount for lack of compresion (or is that only a piston ring thing) I have extra cam and head if this is cause for the lack of power I experienced maybe I shoul just replace the head and cam? What do you guys think?

Wow that's rough. Tell us more about the cam is it stock or aftermarket? This would lead to low compression, no air getting in or out means you can't compress nothing, thus low compression. Are you getting oil up to the head? Do you have enough oil in the machine? What kind of oil do you run?

the engine was together and in the x when i bought it.
no idea of anything that may have been done to it
there was oil around cam and valve springs, not sure what oil was prev used.

I can add that from the work I've done so far, tells me that whoever messed with this before meshould not have touched it.

the valves could have been set way too tight???

do you think its worth just putting on my spare head and cam or is it likely a lower end prob caused this?

also I noticed this little plug when compareing the x head to the m head can some one tell me what it's for and if its important cause the x doesn't have it?

also can I use the valve cover from the 200m on the head of the 200x?
i would like to keep the the compression release lever if possible.
It looks like the 200m cover is a bit shorter than the 200x will this be a problem?

That plug is to plug the area where they machine or drill a hole to mate with another hole. It directs oil to the cam and or topend....

Without it in place, the head does not get the oil it needs.

i know the valve sizes are exactly the same between the 200m and 200x the cams switch back and forth , so why use the x head on the m?

100% correct

this is why the cam failed
