Use bitcomet and do torrent searches on google, you will find basically any song you want and usually you will find whole albums hosted and you can just select the songs off the album you want.

search for a video on break.com for google music search
there's a code you can type into google to only search for archived music on servers...every song is out there. plus downloads are blazing fast, it just takes you about 30 seconds to find the song you want.

I just tried Vuze, and it isn't compatable with iTunes.
We ( i'm including dirtcrasher, hehe) need a site we can download from and add to our iTunes library, so we can add em to our iPods and iPhones.
I don't care to pay a monthly fee or something to make it legal, but like dc said the .99 a pop has gotten old.

limewire works for me usually, but sometimes you cant find a song, or a good quality song. thats when you resort to torrents and such.

Can you put your limewire songs and videos on your iTunes library?

I use limewire, I rarely ever resort to torrents. They take forever to download if theres no seeders, and lots of the time there viruses. I never got anything from limewire and I have over 2000 songs.

My daughter swears by soulseek. My favorite was winmx. It is gone now, threatened with a lawsuit. I've just bounced around since then.:Bounce

Thanks for all the ideas guys, I just have to try some out....
I'm on full out "union" jobs now and the only way to roll is with an IPOD.
Worked a 60 hour week, another 10 today installing a tankless water heater so I'm kinda spent...... Figure I better make the $$ while I can.
I wasn't aware that I could only use Itunes for my Ipod or am I misunderstanding that?? Thanks again and I'm open to any suggestions.

you have to search for some programs to take downloaded music and put them on the ipod

You have to use iTunes to manage the stuff on your iPod. You can rip cd's for music, and any music on your computer can be used by iTunes.
That is why if we use a filesharing site, the files have to be able to be used by iTunes.
I'm downloading limewire now to see if I can put those downloads in iTunes.
DC, what kinda iPod you got?

I didn't know limewire was a paysite. If it works with iTunes, i'll do it, but i don't know for sure.

I had bought the "shuffle" about 2 years ago when I was running a few miles a week. I honestly have never even used it one time, don't know if it has a battery with it, how it's charged - nothing, nada, zilch and zippo! I don't know what it even holds but at the time it ran about 80$.
I can buy whatever one you guys think has the bang for the buck?? I don't think I'd watch movies on it though, just want some music. If you are a fan of one in particular, I'd most likely I'd grab it on EBAY; you really can't beat some of the deals on there. Seeing as they side with the buyer 100% of the time, I buy allot of stuff but I don't sell much there anymore.
I think it will work for me for now, I'm just trying to get through these new jobs (Boston,MA - Prudential center and World Trade Center) NO RADIOS ALLOWED!! Most of the guys have Ipods and a earpiece in one ear. When I ask them where they get there music, they say "my wife does it"......
Caveman/Catman/Asscrasher aint gowtz no wife!! :D

whatever you use to D/L music, it dont have to be compatible with Itunes. just D/L the mp3's, and then import them into itunes, then itunes syncs then to yor POD.

Yes, I know that, but some will not let you copy them out of their library to iTunes.
I read on Limewire where they are useable on iTunes for iPods. So, I guess I'll try it out, I think it's about $2 a month.

The shuffle's are fine, and the battery is internal, and they will play forever on a charge. It came with the dock that hooks up via USB, that's the charger and data link.
I have a shuffle, touch, and iPhone. The iPhone of couse if the best of the 3, but the touch is awesome. You can download the 2.0 software, and then it's pretty much an iPhone minus the phone and GPS.
The only drawback about the shuffle is that you can't see what is playing.
Any of the iPods are top notch. For the most part, the 8G ones are enough, unless you're gonna be watching movies on it. I've got "Cool Hand Luke" on my iPhone, and it's pretty sweet watching a movie whenver and whereever you want. I can stay in my deer stand for 4 hours now! LOL! I usually et bored after a couple hours and get down and walk around to piss my brother off, LOL.
I think the 8G Touch is about $200 at Wal-Mart now. That is a hell of a deal!

I was using Morpheus (Get an older version that allows you to download the songs and isn't locked out) and I also use Azureus and several torrent sites like mininova, torrentspy, and of course the pirate bay.
