Well after burning a few quarts of oil, and the deep water crossing at TrikeFest I felt the 350x needed some TLC..

It needs the following...
-first bore
-piston, rings, wrist pin, c-clips
-cam chain

I checked my Dennis Kirk book and there is none of these parts listed for the 350x. Honda would be way toooooooooooo much so I dont even wanna check with them......

if you are getting a wiseco piston, get it from the guy that sells them on ebay..he will get you a huge discount. I think he quoted me 60 something per kit. His email is

webmaster@hallsofmedford.com

I get all my stuff from a seller by the name of HKC1 off of ebay. He has better prices than service honda or any other place i've tried, and his shipping is fast.

Personally, I would recommend ordering a stock Honda piston with the correct overbore. The piston is only $38 from Service Honda. I bought all of my parts from there and received them for quite a lot less than my local dealer.

I would stay clear of Wiesco, because they are a piston which is designed to be replaced every season, or every few races if you are a racer. The stock Honda piston is built for longevity.

Is that true???? Wiseco pistons only last a season? Anyone care to debate that?

that is what racers do, but i don't think that they are made for only 1 season.....how could it be? becuase it is made differently? btw, what is a stock piston and what is a wiseco? (cast, forged) cast means molded? or forged? thanks!

I am not sure about the Honda Piston, but the Wiesco piston is a cast piston.

One of them is hypereutectic, meaning that it is created from a material which is a mixture of two different lattice structures.

Anyone remember which is which?

sorry Joel, but you're wrong. The wisecos are forged pistons, stockers are cast. They are definately not built for one race season, although alot of racers use them due to being able to turn more rpms with them. I believe that the main reason wiseco pistons fail has to do with the bore not being correct for a forged piston, and then not enough warm up time on the motor. I doubt that a wiseco gives much benefit over a stock piston as far as just trail riding or something, but they do offer higher compression ratios than stock pistons do, if that is desired. I wasn't trying to plug the wisecos, I just have seen them going for really good deals on ebay, from that sledparts guy, and looksl like kilabeez0 found some good deals too. As for the honda pistons being cheaper that really isn't true at all. Yes the piston itself may be 38 bucks, but by the time you add the wrings, circlips, pin, etc you will be at or over the price of a wiseco.

I am running the stock honda piston in my 350x...and in the 200x, I'm not even sure what it is. It was rebuilt, but I have no clue what was installed in it. It has a aftermarket stock compression piston, might be a prox or something. I think it is cast though. i have run a wiseco piston in my old 250r that i had, and liked it fine. I had no problems out of it, but didn't really run it a long period of time, before i traded the bike.
