Can anyone tell me anything about these bikes or anything about ATK in general? I have a guy wanting to trade me this bike for my 1982 Mercury Capri, 5.0, 5-speed, T-Top. The car is rough, rusty, engine problems etc. I'm asking $750 or trade. I know nothing about ATK at all, I don't even know if they are still made.

ATK is still around... they use rotax motors, and from what I always heard they were near bullet proof bike.. I wanted one when I was in dirtbikes in the mid 90's

ATK makes the biggest 2 stroke dirtbike I think its called the 750 intimadator (yea 750cc of 2 stroke madness!)

edit: my bad

I had one of those exact bikes. I loved it. I would trade. They are beasts. I wish I still had mine. An interesting collectible bike in good shape. If you get it, just keep it and rip it once in a while, you will enjoy it for a toy, but I had a problem trail riding mine. There were 2 406 models, an enduro with a wide ratio 5 speed and an MX with a close ratio 5 speed. I had a red MX just like that one, and Im guessing thats the MX due to lack of lighting. I have had 3 ATK's loved them all. Now that ATK is essentially cannondale, the appeal is pretty much over for me. That is an old school rotax powered hand built ATK. I would love to have it.

Thanks for the info. I told him I am interested to we will see that happens! He said he doesn't really want to let anyone ride it because it's "retarded fast". lol.

I have always wanted one but never been able to find one close. I would definetly trade. You will always be able to get your money back out of that bike.

I told him I was interested and he was supposed to call back to set up a time to look at the car adn I have not heard back since. I got a guy coming to look at the car on Friday and he says he's buying it so we'll see. I'd prob rather have the cash anyway.

I just picked one up tonite for cheap, dirt cheap.. I think im gonna go threw it and keep it, looks like a very well built bike and race ready. Its got a Dyno Port pipe in realy nice shape on it too.. Only thing is its missing the head..
