So here I was washing my 350X, I figured I'd better do it seeing that i haven't done it since before riding over dirtcrashers house. I get it all cleaned up then I start it up and it was running a little weird. I pulled the seat off and looked in the air box and look what I found

Watch out for those mice, man. If they stay long enough, at some point they'll move into your carb, build a nest right against the slide, and it usually siezes it. no fun at all.

Between this and your backwards oil filter incident, I think your determined to destroy your poor 350X

Mice LOVE air filter boxes, I bought a blaster and the crank was filled with debris which of course required splitting the cases :(

Bought an '86 Tri-Z several years ago that had about 3 handfulls of corn in the airbox. I check all airboxes now before I even crank up a machine that's set a little while.

Not only does it make it look better, it easier to clean when dirty and protects the plastic.:welcome:

We had a litter of kittens in my uncles rad shroud on his old Camaro. Started it up and the motor knocked shut it down and popped the hood. What a mess. One kitten of 5 survived. The fan acted like a blender. Gross eh.

I had about 3 cups of dog food in my airbox one time. I don't run air box lids anymore unless it's wet out.

Here's the thing though, I don't understand how it could've got in there. Everything is sealed pretty tight. Any suggestions?
the lid has no holes drilled either, and the water drain is in tact

They get it threw the scoops on the frames neck. There is a hole behind the small scoop that goes threw the frame tube to the airbox.

The '84 125m I bought had the airbox full of mouse nest as well as inside the frame. It stunk really bad like mouse pee even after I cleaned it all out.

I read the thread title and thought for sure it was a play on words and was gunna be about a rear shock or something.

You shoulda titled the thread 'I almost lost my breath!!' or 'I couldn't breathe!'

The filter In the first pic looks like It has no oil on It. You might want to get ya some, because your piston, rings & valve's won't last long like that. It might stop Mickey Mouse from chewing on It also

I bought an 85 tecate a couple years ago and while I was test riding it a mouse climbed out of the air box and on to the tank while I was trucking along!!!!!

I'll tell ya, my mouse experience was a complete disaster.....

Went to buy the ex gf a Blaster and he was trying to start it when I pulled in. He said " I haven't run it in a year"

So, I got a good deal but with all that crap sucked into the crank, I just had to split it. At that time, I had no pullers or oxy/acet etc etc so I brought the bare bones bottom end to my local Yamaha dealer. He charged me over 500$ IN LABOR to split it and replace the mains.......

When I bitched he said "allot of little parts in that case"..... They actually put the clutch pushrod/bearing together wrong and had to take the clutch apart again - I could have KILLED THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it were a 4 stroke, I would have flushed it, but being a pinger, I had to replace the mains or it would have blown up.

what you need to get is a KN filter so when the mouse goes to chew in it he chips a tooth. atleast around the paper
