Thats the boost bottle youve disconnected, which is for the purpose of improving throttle response off of idle. If it runs better with it off, you probably have an intake leak, clogged air filter, or reeds need attention.

The "power band" is the range of rpms at which your motor delivers the most power. Its not a thing that can be replaced, but this range can be affected by what you replace. An example is that the boost bottle you took off is for the purpose of extending the power band into the lower rpm range.

I bought a super turbo 300 Super STock Yamaha powerband, it gave my Tri-Z 69 horsepower and I can spin my wheels for so long now that my bottom skidplate gets stuck in the ground then I have to have a backhoe dig me out. THe new powerband cost me 800 dollarz.

to change the power band is easy. all you need is a grinder and a gasket set for the topend. :-D
