ok well I picked up another 3 wheeler to add to my collection. Its a 1985 250sx. the shifter was kinda hard to shift, was stuck in reverse when I got it. It had no spark since it was stuck in reverse, so I jumped the 2 wires to the nuetral saftey switch and it fired right up. It shifts better now, but not perfect, I still need to pull the left cover and check it out. But anyway its been running great for a few days. I put it away last night and it was running fine. This morning it wouldn't start, no spark. I jumped the wires by the NSS again and still no spark. I have no ignition switch, I have the black and red wires connected. Battery is hooked up but dead ,i just use the kick start. Tried a new plug, also check coil which was good. Not sure how to test the cdi and stator on the 250sx. any help is appreciated, thanks!

There is a fuse back by the battery. It is in a rubber enclosed holder.

iam not sure on the sx but i know on the big reds you can check the cdi box with a multimeter. you might check into a manuel to see if it shows you how. the pickup coil would also be an option

figured it out. It was a problem with the shifter. Thanks to this website, i was able to figure it out. The shift drum and shifter stud were both loose, and it was causing the nuetral switch to act up, so it wasn't getting spark. luckily the gasket stayed in one peice and neither bolt was snapped off.
thanks again for the help!
