Is a 185s too big for a begineer 10 year old? I want to start my grandkids on my trikes but I am worried that the 185s is too big. Should I wait until the 110 and 125 are done?

How big are the kids? How responsible are hey for their age? A 185S has lots of power for what they are. This should be a judgment call made by yourself or their parents - not a bunch of strangers on the internet.

But if he can`t pull start it by himself I won`t let it touch that trike. My father always told me «When you'll be able to start the bike by yourself I will allow you to ride alone on it»

Same thing I tell my son all the time.

He was able to kickstart the 250sx at age 9 or so.. and he rode that pretty good.

He's 12 now and although he cant quite start the 350x... he loves to ride it. :w00t: ... and it makes DAD real nervouse.

I'm the grandpa. I may try starting him out from second or third gear.

I think something with suspension would be the safest route. Something like an auto X would be perfect. (or something with suspension and an autoclutch like a yami 225 or something) unless you wanna break him in on a clutch. (200x) practice and alot of supervision makes perfect. :w00t:

I put my friend's son on my 185S with no problems. I put it in 2nd and let him tool around. Kept a watchful eye on him the whole time too.

Wait for the 110 /125 then see how good he is and then move him up. no need to rush these things all in good time. But if hes strong and a experienced rider you might not have to wait for the 110/ 125.

yea i'd wait and put the 125 or 110 in low gear and let him ride with it in low.

well here's the thing, if it flips over on him is he strong enough to shove it off. I say if he's a big kid, responsible, and you teach him to respect it, he should be okay.

Just start off slow.

Hell we all had 70s when little, and 30mph is enough to kill ya, we wrecked em, jumped em, you name it. When the girls wrecked they typically ended up at a doctor simply because the 180 pound 70 is a lot for someone 60 pounds to deal with.
