Why do I get a flame coming out the exhaust pipe on a 250sx?

Too much unburnt fuel. Could be as simple as a dirty air filter or could be as complicated as an improperly jetted trike. If you look at your spark plug, it could be really black and sooty as in on it's way to fouling out. That trike needs a nice tune up and it should put it on the right track to running right.

Vealmonkey is right, that is un-burnt fuel and poor timing. Clean the carb, adjust the cam chain, valves and timing.

This thread title reminded me that there's a dancing school a few miles from here called Flames. How hillarious is that? Pretty much just accepting defeat when you take your kid to sign up there. :lol:

It has a cobra exhaust.

cobra exhausts are known for that. my old 200x used to do that sometimes, so did digity x's. i liked it, thought it was pretty friggin cool!
My Cobra on my old 225 used to shoot a 1' long blue flame out. Looks cool at knight!!!!!!!!!
