225DX fuel pet-cock help

I recently bought a 83 225DX and the pet-cock under the fuel tank is darn near impossible to turn. Any tricks to get it working easy again? Anyone know where I can get a replacement, or if there is a pet-cock from a newer model quad that will match up?

The arm was busted off mine when I bought the trike, so I bought a brand new one from the dealer. It was about $16, and I think it was just last year.
