View Full Version : Trx off set rims on 250sx?

Would any of the off set EX series Trx rims work on 1985 250sx? I believe that the rim pattern 4x110 should match but I am concerned about the brake drum fitting.

not any 8" rims no, i bought 2 rims off a 200x becuase they were the same diameter and bolt pattern, but they DO NOT clear the brake drum, you need to find either a 8" rim with a large bell, which is referring to bell housing of the rim needed to fit the brakes on the older atv's w/drum brakes. or and 9 inch rim or bigger with 4/110 bolt pattern will bolt right on.

I can tell you a 9" wheel from a TRX450R will not clear the brake drum so I don't think any EX wheels will work either.

really even the 9" factory alminum wheels dont fit? dang that sucks, guess the best bet would be a set of itp t-9 pro series, they're large bell and are only 49.99$ a piece at www.denniskirk.com. oh and they're 8" diameter like the stock stuff, i think they might be a little narrower.

Nope, not even the 9's will work. My dad bought some new 8" aluminum wheels for his SX that work, I think they might be ITP but I can't remember.

What are they off of? I think the EX rims are 3+5 offset, they are 9", and I think they are 8" wide.


BUT... aren't they the same as the 450R rims Blown used and didn't work?

I thought a 9" rim would work fine?? Dam SX!! :lol: The 86/87 rear drum has more clearance. I know I ran 85/86 OEM 250R rims on there so 400EX and others would also work....

Man, isn't this stuff just a big giant piece of frustration!!

BTW, Very very nice 2fiddy SX there JEFFRO!!! I wanna see some dents, scratches and mud though :D Bring it down, I'll take her for a ride :naughty:

These are douglas red labels. DC is right 86 has more clearance on the drum housing. DC I think we will be getting together this summer no doubt!!!!
