I had the normal one one my first 85 250R and the desert grab bar on my 450R and currently have the desert grab bar on my 350x. I like them a lot and they are by far my favorite grab bar, I highly recommend them. Yes they are very strong, much stronger than stock. I think you'd have a hard time bending one.
ditto I have the desert bar on my 85 and I had one on my 83 I love them + they take a beating!

Put one on my 200x a few years back..... great bar. Better than stock, handy for throwing the X in the pickup.

I have the desert one on my 250r and like it a lot. Strong and it gives you a solid place to grab the bike for loading it.

some good advice: when you get the PRM 6 pack rack, CUT their strap off, and get your own. The buckles are plastic, you will loose a tanks (been there)

You give up on looking for a rear rack for the 250SX, or just something to carry the beer till you find a full rack?
If you get a chance put up some pics of the SX you just got off Ebay, id like to see it... matt

You might save yourself a few bucks by buying directly off PRM ATV than getting one off ebay. And while your at it get yourself a skid plate or two! gotta support the companies that still support us!
Oh,, I got a desert grabber too and love it... what's cool is you still got room for a few of your favorite beverages. :D

they are much stronger than stock...however I have the one like Tank has above.
the 200x was stuck...I reached down and grabbed it...and bent the ever living piss out of where it mounts...I wouldn't advise the larger "baja' or "desert" styles.
I did just buy the prm skid, and I will be ordering a stock style grab bar from them in the next few days.

Ahhh yeah - that 'six pack holder' style one would be great to have on the back of my R for the long trail rides!! I mean - these bikes drink gas quicker then I can drink beer! I was shocked how much gas my R can drink on a ride in the woods compared to say, my Big Red Chopper or the 350 Fourtrax!!
I'm gunna have to get me one of these and strap a jerry can fuel of gas on it for the 'long rides' - nice!

that's what I get for trying to cross a sticky ass slough.
I was actually just using that to illustrate that the larger style grab bars are not as strong as the wee ones.

I loved mine, protected my plastic..
Went backwards full throttle and it saved me and the plastic, never bent, did get dinged.

I go 1 for my 1985 250sx it fit worth sh***t had to clamp it on then run the bolts through it, and it had no attachment for the rear tail light.
