Add a larger front sprocket or a smaller rear sprocket to get more speed.

do you mean you want it to be faster on a long run (top end)
or faster between gears when playing around.
I personally don't care much for going fast, but I am a duner rather than a flat land lubber, so my faster is response at the wheels. I had to gear down to get that rooster spraying action. Buit if you are trail riding or have long flat out runs at wide open throttle, then yes, you will need to gear up in the front or down in the rear. However I would really recommend you consider doing it all as a set. The chain wears a pattern into the matching surfaces, and when you only replace one component, you run a higher risk of breaking or cracking something, wether it be the gear or the chain. Just my 2 cents
