snorkel build

hi i am wanting to make a snorkel for my tri moto, when i got it it had a 3 inch long rubber boot with a cloth taped on, i have an air filter for it now, but i am wanting to make an airbox and a snorkel. i am wondering wich goes first the air box to the snorkel or the snorkel directly from the carb all the way up to an airbox?, all help appreciated it would be nice to see some pics of someone elses hand made snorkel

As long as it's water tight it shouldn't matter. Personally, I prefer my filter as close to the carburetor as possible.
