ATC Ski?

Does any one have pictures of an actual manufactured front tire ski from the 80's ? :pics: Ive heard a lot about them ,but haven't seen one.

There is a local guy here that I got alot of parts from over the summer that had a ski for the 200x. It was the type that would pivot on the front hub bolt, but it would sit in front of the front tire. He said you could ride on the tire till you got to were you wanted the ski, them pivot it down and drive onto it. the front tire would ride on it, if that makes any sense. I lost his number, I'll send a few messages and see if I can find it. maybe I can go grab it and take some picts and then maybe sell it.

i have one, my friend bought a 200x recently and it came with it. He gave it to me, its similar to the white one as shown above. It uses the stock axle bolt. Its pretty cool but not great on light snow. i"ll try to get a picture of it and post it up

It doesnt look like it would be that hard to build one out of a old snowmobile ski.

Are those skis an actual Honda product or a whole other manufacture? That would determine the value for me.

I have a ski for a 200x. It mounts by removing the front forks and uses the tripple tree. It has a leaf spring for suspension too. Its definitly not home made, as anyone seen one of these?

That's what my freind's looks like. except, it bolts up with the stack axle, after removing the tire. It doesn't have those "forks" on it, though. There aren't any markings on it, so I don't know if it's a Honda part.

I just built a ski for my 200. Its 2 snowmobile skiis that my dad got for free, my dad and i did a little grinding then just bolted them together, it works pretty good.

I have pictures of a friends Yeti kit that converts his 86 big red into a snow machine. It has a front ski that replaces the front tire and a double wide snowmobile track that bolts up to the rear hubs on his bike.
He says it's incredibly strong and he uses it for hauling wood in the snow. I'll see if I can find the pics.

hey tordeur. Whatis that ski made from? Ive been thinking of cutting up a snowboard to make work. Lets see those red neck skis. Dont like the idea of bolting or strapping the ski to the tire tho.

I dont think the snowboard its a good idea,....Too flat edges!
The ski of my friend is from snowmobile,...Tu put under original ski in deep snow!

That's a pretty neat looking kit there. I had bought a ski myself 2 years ago. I never unwrapped it from when it arrived in the mail. It either snows too little or too much here to use.

I'm not sure how much he wants for it, but I can ask him sometime. I'm pretty sure it is made for big reds and the like.
MudBug, he lives in Robinsons but it's stashed at his dads house in St Fintan's.

Ok, I talked to him a few minutes ago, and he said he'd take $400 for the yeti.
He bought it, a couple big red parts and the trailer pictured below a few years back for $650.
He said the only problem he found with it is that it has an incredible amount of traction.
He used it for hauling wood, and twice he has broken the shaft in his engine while hauling loads that were too heavy.
He said he has even pulled a truck out of the ditch with it before.
