Hey Scott, I just got a big promotion. I am sliding into a leadership position and getting a secret clearance. Do you think that will help with the job hunt back home?

Yeah that would definately help for sure! Secret clearance is very necessary around here, esp in what I do and what this command does.

Are you getting any good Christmas shows this year? Bob Hope was very good about putting on the shows for the troops. You all deserve the best.

Maybe you could edit and publish a new trike magazine. Have it something like Hemmings Motor news but have it about old three wheelers instead of cars.

I doubt there would be enough interest in it.

Does any one know of a small county some where that needs a Sheriff? I would love to have a job like that.

Are you in the Guard or active. I mean I know your active now.
How long have you been active? If you are in the guard what where you doing before you got activated? If you are active you should be able to get unemployment when you first get out. I'm not sure if that is the same for guard
or not? I would think if you have been full time a year plus you should be able to get it. Guard or active what ever job you left they have to give it back to you.
I would think you should go through some kind of classes before you get out to help find you something. Check with your unit there should help for you to find something even now.

30 years ago, one term in Louisiana as sheriff would have set you up for life.
I saw you posted about law enforcement, what about on the federal level? Homeland security? FEMA supervisors make 35-125 an hour with a ridiculous expense account.

I am no longer in the military. I now work as a civilian in Force Protection.
I am looking at the federal level as well. My secret clearance has got to be worth something when I get home.

Can you or someone back home get ahold of the unemployment office?
each office has a VA rep. to help vets. He or she could help you find something or already know of places that you could contact. You can get a lot of info from these people I would contact them just so you could be informed.
There are places here that want secret clearance. Sit at a phone and call companies and ask question about the buildings they are in. Something for
homeland security.

Homeland Security is one of the agencies I am going to look into. There are a few more I am interested in. It is tough to get information on some of them though.

Have you tried this site? This is the site for all gov. jobs.
You can search by state or job or agency.

I have been all over that site. I found a lot of good stuff. The problem is I do not know thw job codes for some of the jobs I am interested in. I plan to attack it a bit harder in a few more months.
