I bought a billit bearing carrier for my 84 250R and it was tough to get it in. I greased it up really good and honed the fame with a cylinder honing tool. I got it in but now it is time to adjust the chain and it is TIGHT. I tried a hammer and driver and it just digs into the carrier. Has anybody else ran into this? If so what did you have to do?

If I am forced to buy the spanner wrench does anyone have a link to where I can get one?

Thanks in advance.

It should not be that tight - especially if new. There should be bolt in the bottom to keep the carrier from spinning the whole way around - you are not hung on it are you?

Post a picture of what you are dealing with.

most aftermarket carriers don't use that bolt. My lsr and Rad ones don't. I believe only stock use that bolt. Are you sure you have the right one?? It should've went right in w/o fighting. Yes, the right spanner tool is a must. If I remember correctly, it has little notches in it, just like the 85 carrier.

Bumping this.

I have the same carrier and the same bike. Did you get it to fit right? Am I going to run into issues?

THERE IS AN EASY WAY TO TURN A CARRIER.......

take a big screwdriver and stick it through the sprocket holes get it to mesh with the notch in the carrier then roll the trike in the direction you need to turn the carrier,,,, it works real easy.... if i wasn't leaving i would post a video,,, it is EASY AND WILL TURN THE CARRIER EASY,,,,,, I WILL POST A HOW TO VIDEO WHEN I GET BACK FROM THE DUNES THIS WEEKEND.
