Gas comming out of carb, 200x

When i turn on the gas, the bottom (overflow?) line just starts to run the gas all over. What would cause this? Need to know ASAP! thanks, also i got it to start once, but it would idle faster then normal, not really fast but faster then normal, then it just died. (just got the x back together today, tore it down to the frame and repainted it and all. and tomorrow i am going up north to do some trails, so i hope it doesnt need rebuilding, (also, the carb worked fine when i took it off. (float stuck?)

my 86 did the same thing just take the carb apart and clean it really goood i had to do it twice befor i got mine to stop ... good luck!

well i took it apart and blew it out, dont have any carb cleaner so thats all i could use. im going to try to get into town to get some but is there anything else that would work?

sounds like your float is stuck or your needle and seat.

speak lamens terms (not very good with carbs) but im out to get some cleaner and soak it in there and see if it helps. how would you check to see if the float is stuck or things? thanks

just pull it apart, and spray the crap out of everything with carb cleaner and it'll most likely work. Tap the plastic circle piece inside the carb and see if it bounces or just sticks is what he means.
