Here's the lights I went with SYKO:

There's a ton of options for these offroad lights. The 350x can run duel 55's without a stator upgrade.

the triples on the X & R have diffrent mounting points. The lights are 55w each. So I didn't have to have the stator rewound.

Badass! Can you give us an idea how much brighter they are over the stock setup? Like 50% brighter? More? Less?
Looks killer either way. PIAA makes some bulbs that draw only 55 watts but put out like 125 watts or something. You might want to look into that. Imagine running dual 125 watt lights in those puppies! Don't have the link handy but it sounded cool. They even make some 35s that will fit the stock 350x housing that put out 55 watts.
Edit: Michelle says they look like hooters.

I was really interested in this set up when they were first offered. That is until I saw those tiny pieces that come off the oval and attach it to the front end. I can't understand why it wasn't made with the same diameter tubing for the whole cage?

You can buy motorcycle HID kits that fit ATV's. I was gonna put one in my 250r a while ago, but the 100w Xenon bulb I have in there already freakin lights up everything at night. I might still put in HIDs later if I have an extra 35 or 45 bux laying around and nothing else to work on.

He exlpained the reason for that in the other thread. It only looks thin in comparison to the oval piece. The supports are as thick as a hondaline guard. Should be fine.

I had to tweak it a bit to get it on, but's it's very well built. I ride like a sissy most of the time so I should be good. I'm not too crazy about the lights plastic housing tho.
Doug, I'll let you know how bright they are later today! :naughty:

I ran a set year ago with the plastic housing and they shook out the first time I crossed the RR tracks. I had to take the out and put a heavy bead of silicone inside and put them back together.

Hey Chris...nice light setup for sure...but was that drive sprocket cover made on a waterjet or a laser cutter?
I used to program Omax waterjets...I made lots of stuff including three grab bars for my X`s before the Meltdown and my employer went out of business
That sprocket cover just sets it off on that side...nice piece
sort story is I`m out of waterjet access and got files on a zip of some stuff I programmed I need made

You can throw a couple of these PIAA 55 watt bulbs in there that draw 55 watts but somehow magically put out over 100 watts of light. No idea how it works but I've read from other forums that they're bright as hell.

Its an Astro kit but the Astro fenders look like Suzuki and a Honda guy cant have that, I cut down a set of TRX 250R fenders made it look 10 times better... I'll see if ive got anymore pics, i converted it back to a trike and sold the frame to Longisland mike a few years back...

Man..... This is why I got all the other crap mostly done!
I got a tubing bender (thx DEEPA) and some tubing, I wanted to make some round tubing housed guards or light mounts.
BUT, I think Wild did an awesome job and he's right about making one general housing to use with different models mountings.
I look forward to getting Jeff's stuff and seeing what I can do with it......
I really really really wish I had more time and a fully operational machine shop, I fabed up some awesome stuff when I was an industrial mechanic :(

Whoa! I somehow missed this post. THANKS! This is something I'll look into after I get a few rides in with this new setup. I'd say they're almost twice as bright as the stockers now.. (anyone know for sure if those PIAA's bulbs will fit the hella's?) @ $50 a clip I wanna make sure I'm right the first time.
....you would think "off road" lights that they bolt to the front bumpers of trucks would hold up the the abuse... I'll let you guys know if I ever get back out to ride.

If it's a H3 bulb it should fit. Just to be safe I'd buy them from somewhere that has an easy return policy.

Got mine from Ted today. I put it on the 350x loosely just to see how it looks. It's not bolted down. I need different bulbs to make it work. My PIAAs have 100 watt bulbs in them for the R. I'll probably get some different lights altogether for the tree fiddy.

It's been said multiple times actually. They are fifty bucks for the frames (lights not included). A guy named Ted (aka wild200x) on www.3wheeler.org is reproducing them since they are long discontinued.

I have an '85 Honda 250r and I want one of these light bars BAD. I have contacted Ted and it just isn't worth his time
to make just one of these and I understand. Here is where I need your help. If we can get a few orders together he is willing to make another run. So if your interested in one please pm him at the 3wheeler.org site. wild200x is his user name
