i have an 84 atc 250r and i got it in need of a top end. the cylinder was measured 80 thou over-bore. does that sound like the 300cc kit from hondaline? i dont know what to do to fix this, right now its in a shop and they are trying to figure it out. i got 2 sleeves so far and neither fit, i even got a new cylinder to see if that would work but they are both the exact same size. can any one help?

also is it possible to get a speedometer for an 84?

The way to tell the 300r cylinder is if it has an extra bolt. I can't remember if stock head bolt number is 6, then the 300 kit would have 7 head bolts. There are a couple of 300r kits on ebay right now if you want to check out what one looks like.

a 300 kit(76mm) is much larger than a .080" over 250 (72mm)

Is it possible to get a .080 over piston? Also the person who had it before me got a piston and it says its for a CR 250. are the 2 pistons the same or do i have the wrong piston?

depending on what year CR piston it is, it can be used.
but its going to have to be one of the older ones I bleive 76-79 or so.

like veal said the 300 cylinder has 7 head studs, and is bigger and more squar then the stock 250 cylinder

yes its for a 79 cr 250, also the head has 6 studs. so i guess i just have to get an 80 thou over piston
