Petcock Help!

Hi guys I took the petcock apart off my 250r for a good clean and scrub up. I have put it back together and it now leaks (wasnt leaking before). Maybe I have put it back together wrong. Can anyone give me the steps to put it back together. I did it like this.

Assembly.
Put in the 4 holed O ring.
Then the spacer with two notches in it.
Then the tap lever.
Then the thin spring washer.
Then the face plate and two bolts.

Is that right? Does the O ring have to go in a certain way?

sadly...I've never taken a petcock apart and had it working properly after reassembly...it always seems to leak slightly when in one position or another

the same thing happened to mine when i pulled it off for a 'clean'. had to get a new one.
try the wreckers, many will interchange. also the cork gasket sheets that sell at supercheap are good for petcock leaks (depending where its leaking from)

it's under 25 bucks for a new petcock...just throwing it out there.

Try taking it apart again, maybe a rubber piece didnt seat right? Ive always had better luck soaking the rubber parts in gas for a minute before I put it back together.
