if I'm going to street legalize my 200e, i need to have a tail/brakelight. so it needs to have the slamm light turn on withthe lights and the brake light always on. what do you guys recommend for this? i need to know what you guys recommend i use for the switch for the brake light. i can rig up a generic led bulb, but i'm not sure what to use for the switch itself and where should i put it? i was thinking it should go on the rear drum lever so no mater if i use the rear hand or foot brake it still works. then i would need to rig up one for the front (i think have to investigate if needed). anyway, any help is greatly appreciated!

Mike,
This is what I did to hook brake lights up on my SX. The switch is just a generic switch that you will find on any crusier motorcycle. This partricular one is from a V-Star 1100 Yamaha. I made up an aluminum bracket and drilled and tapped the back of the foot peg mount to mount the switch. I only have the picture of the footbrake. I have a 200x front end on the trike, which allows me to utilize a hydraulic brake. If you take a look at the 200x master cylinder you will see that it has a provision for a brake switch. Not sure why honda did this but sure glad they did. After doing some serious searching for "what" ATV's/Motorcycles/dirt bikes utilize brake switches I deteremined that the CT70 has the correct switch needed to fit the provision in the master cylinder. Works amazing.

Out the back lighting things up I have a 05 YFZ 450 L.E.D. tailight. WICKED bright. Looks great at night. And no matter what brake your using it works perfectly.

that's pretty cool. i was hoping they had something not so involved. i may be able to rig it to work when the rear brake is used, but i'm conccerned about the front brake. 200x front is gonna cost some $ and i wonder if it's worth the $ or not. it may be easier to not do this to my 200e and do it to my 250es when i get it restored next year. but the thought of running aorudn the local town roads on a trike is too hard to pass up!!! ;)

cool. thanks man. yea i am working on getting a 200x front end as suggested and brake setup. i'll then do the same type of thing you are on the lever and be done with it. i thnk it's more epxensive, but it seams way easier than re-engineering things that are not there at all.

btw, awesome rear grabber. where ya get it? i'd like to get me one. will it still work with the rear rack too? (keeping my front and rear racks for sure as i'm going to work on a locking box that bolts to them so i can go to the store and not worrie abotu stuff being taken.
opne thought i had was where my ball goes for the hitch to take the ball off for street travel and design a rear bumper that bolts there for extra added security. it may not stop much, but it woudl probebly help with the occasional "accidental bump" from a backink up or what not.
i'm also looking at ensuring i get power only form the ignition for the taillights, not the battery. this way no matter what runs the triuke (pull start due to bad battery or what) it works, and tghe lights won't come on w/o turnign the key on that way too!
do you also get aq rear taillight with that brake light setup? so when you turn the light switch it lights it up then a brake light when needed?
