Went out and did some rippin on my latest aquisition. I am determined to make this trike a true rider and just have fun with it. Trike ran flawless for its first real ride in the woods. I babied it for the first lengths, but really opened it up on the way back.

Trails were perfect, hard packed with a fresh 3" coating of snow. If i had better tires i could have gone forever. The hills were a little slick for these fred flintstone tires i got.:) I got a lot of plans for this beast cosmetically but in due time. Id rather beat it and run it till a real restore is needed.....

some poser pics..:TrikesOwn Not too many of these on the trails anymore.

Yea thats a nice one and the trails were looking good in the pics. Love that 3 line trail. :TrikesOwn What are your plans for the T-3 or is it pretty much all set for your daily rider?

It actually looks good for now. The plastics are matching maier satin style. And the shrouds are original from my other 86, they have a darker faded color which matches the fenders nicely. So i can get away with new shroud stickers for now. But i want new plastics......

need to rebuild forks next and need new wheels/tires for the rear. Need a better rear shock and a flywheel for reliability.

thinking about purple fork boots and matching seat cover. But I'll see how it goes.

In 2 years I will powder it all....

Nice job! Kinda reminds me of mine which now needs to be rebuilt after 3 years of thrashing it. Last summer, drove mine into a tree and bent a fork, the front rim, and cracked the rear plastic. Some might think that's a shame, but I built to ride it. (And when you think you are going to be in a head on collision, stuff happens fast.)

I like to ride mine for hours out on the trails and am more concerned about not breaking down and kicking those 4 stroke arses than what it looks like, rather than saving it as an investment that sits there looking pretty.

Yours looks good enough to me.

What kind of rear shock is on there?

Looks good paul, I have a question though,,, how did you get the weld off the shifter shaft?

Ill tell you what, the twist throttle on this thing can be hairy and i could def. see myself losing it on this trike.

The shock seems to be an old 80s cr250 shock without resi. bolts in - no mods, but jacks the rear up to much. So i am looking for something else.

This trike has a fun topend hit and loves to rev.;)

Still works good. Ill worry about that when i got to break into the bottom end.

I put the twist throttle back on my X and like it so much more. Got a package deal, twist throttle, and Renthal bars for $20 on Ebay... No more ape hangers

I just took my twister off. I feel much more comfortable with the thumb trail riding. If anybody wants the twister it is pretty much brand new. Comes with a fully adjustable cable as well.

Great pics! Some 20" Turf Tamers on the back would be great.

I still got some tinkering to do to get it trustworthy. So IDK yet. Still got to make up my mind if i am even going this year....

I got to put the airbox on next and rebuild and sand down the forks. Trying to do all the low cost items first then hit the big ones like plastics, tires and performance mods, etc.. later on..

I like it, looks great. I always liked the Tecate's, wish there were more in the area. I would have my hands on one for sure.

Lookin good, wish we had snow like that around here to ride on. I am currently building a tecate in hopes to be able to ride the mess out of it. My other one was too nice to ride, and its not going to happen this time.
Oh you can get you a tank cover/bra for your t-3 at ceet. Just give Tony a call and he can help you out...760-599-0115 and its around 50$ plus shipping.
