my 200x seat pops up in the front near the gas tank, the seat cover looks like new though, but it looks like a total eye buster due to the seat pulling up from the tank???? any quick fixes

Mine does too. I assume its just a design flaw. Most of the first gen 200X seats I have seen do this.

It could be because the seat cover was put on too tight causing the seat to bend up more..... You say it looks like a new cover.... i bet that is what happened.

If it is a one piece seat cover, you have to stretch the cover more to get the wrinkles out. You can re-cover it and use alot of heat to get the wrinkles out without stretching it as much......

or you could by a seat cover that is sewn together at the sides so it isnt required to stretch it as much to put on.

Heat gun. Turn the seat upside down heat the piss out of the plastic pan and apply pressure. Let it cool while holding pressure and hope for the best. This works real good before you recover when it's all apart. Should work with a completed seat though.

This has been a big problem for me with making my own seat covers.

The way the grain runs, forces you to stretch it in certain ways, which helps pull the nose of the seat up.... There are a few makes/models that have a channel molded into them that locks into a shoulder or screw and helps prevent this.

If you pull it tight enough to get out the wrinkles, you end up pulling the nose up.

Our parts are all getting old and tired guys.... I should mount up one of my 87 200X NOS seats and see how flat they lay :D

This is part of the reason that I'm not a huge AESTHETICS guy... I just can't be an agressive rider and keep stickers nice, seats tight and overall shiny nice new stuff.

I'm a RIDER and always will be

Couldn't a metal brace be made that bolted to the plastic seat pan to hold it tight against the tank and keep it from bending up?
