need help with 250r

I got a 81 250r. The guy i got it from said the mechanic at the honda shop adjusted the timing so it would run with the messed up rotor he had on it. i bought a new rotor and saw that the index mark wasnt lined up so i lined it up. After i put it all back together it wouldnt run. Is there another place where the timing can be adjust that might be causing to not to fire when it is line up?

did you make sure to put the timing key back in?
