I think $260 is a steal for a scrambler(if I read that right) I would go for it for 260 easy just because not many people have them.

edit: this vid shows em in action http://www.files.3wheelerworld.com/remotepictures/PolarisScrambler/1985-1986%20Polaris%20ATV%20Sales%20Video.wmv

ya thats a cool trike and ive never seen one in person before so it must be pretty rare. polaris had the constant variable transmission so it drives like a snowmobile, so your at the perfect rpm your whole ride. its a great system!

They are over all good machines. I have a few of them and one of them I have had for 6+ years. The biggest beef I have with them is the electric starters. They are the biggest pain in the rear to repair / replace. Finding some parts is completely impossible ( I have searched well over 100 dealers ).

When it's running properly you will have a hard time finding a machine that rides smoother.

Well since a 500 is a 4-wheeler I'm gonna have to say it has a different front end than a 3-wheeler.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned it, but make sure your offer is legit. Second chance offers that aren't scams are getting more and more rare.

I know there a pain in the ass....Ive worker on trail boss's....as far as parts are concerned the only problem I see is cosmetic parts....but most of the parts seem to interchange with the trail boss

I saw that on ebay not to far from me either. I think it was up in Clyde, NY if I remember right. Good deal for $260 for sure. I emailed him and asked for a buy it now when the trikes bidding was at about $50,He replied back and said he would end it for $1000. I laughed really hard and replied back,"I bet you would". Then hoped he got a non paying bidder.Dreams do come true
