I'm doing the 200s engine in a 200x frame swap and I'm curious about the carbs. The carb kits look very similar but the order numbers are different. What is the difference in the carbs and does one have any advantages over the other?

Will the X carb work on the S engine without a problem

swigin, cna you verify that? everythign i ever read (eariler models that is) they are the same sized carb, just the jetting is different. I'm just trying to confirm this because i have seen several arugments on both sizes. I'd like a solid confirmation for future reference is all. (honestly at this point i don't know which side to believe)
either carb will work. yes the x carb willw ork, but it's jetted for the more agressice cam and higher compression than the stocker 200s motor has. your best bet is to get a set of 200s jets to replace the 200x stuff with and tune from there. (unless your running a 200x piston and cam or weisco piston)

200x carbs are completely different from the other 200 carbs. Jets will not interchange due to the 200x having a larger bowl and longer jets to compensate. The 200x carb will bolt right on and work fine with any of the other 200 engines, your jetting will just be off a little.

the carb's themselves are the same, like stated above the jetting and bowls are different.

will the jetting be close to what it should be with a better air intake and dg/supertrapp exhaust?

With an exhaust, yes, it will most likely be closer. You still might have to mess with the mixture screw or needle position though.
