i do a tri-z build,and i am on a pretty tight budget.i blasting my frame this weekend .i know pc is way more durable but alot more expensive.does anybody know a good method for rattle can painting that will hold up.

my buddy uses base coat/clear coat on his frame (auto paint) and it holds up just about as good as PC....but it costs more then PC.

i know you said rattle can but the truth is is will come off easy

Nope... There is really nothing you can do to make a spray can more durable, people clear coat it blah blah blah but it's still not suited for off road use...

PC or autopaint are some of your best choices for a finish.

But, allot of people don't want to or have 250$ to spend on a finish right now......

Its great to see anyone even trying to build a trike with the way this friggen economy is :w00t: so if you have to use rattle can or something, just try to prep it really well.

I had always got the best spray bomb results from putting the cans in hot water before spraying them and having the metal prepped well and spotless!!

yeah could not agree more about the economy,the r i did i used pc and it holds up great but being a victim of the auto industry i will prolly have to spray bomb it.thanks for the advice
