It's official! I am now accepting information for a World Wide Trike
Registry. If you are interested in becoming part it, please email me
with your trike's:
year,
make,
build dates ( on the Model date tag )
serial #s ( On the frame behind the headlight )
precise model name,
general location (city, State),
and your actual name or user name.
The idea behind this is to track product distribution, model
changes, "sister" trikes and in the event of a theft, a data base
that will be accessable to everyone.
We already have the co-operation of Billy and Howdy of 3WW, Fuzzy's gang at Trike Heaven, and the Yahoo Honda ATC Club, and soon hope to have the .org crew on board!
Send info to moe18436572@Yahoo.com
Let's make this a sucess, and thanks to everyone in advance!

Hey Mob, do you want VIN's too? Most of the build date stickers on mine are gone...but the VINs are still stamped onto the frame. I'll try to do a list of all of my machines (Parts ones included) Should be in the neighborhood of 20.

Billy, I was looking for the tag info, but send me the VIN on the one missing the tag, and I'll try to decipher it.
Plese try to be as accurate as possible. i'm already geting incomplete information.
P.S. Wouldn't the vin# the same as the serial#?
Billy Golightly
07-04-2003, 02:24 PM
yup, Frame VIN or Serial # are pretty much the same thing. I didn't see you mention it in your post though so I was just curious and thought I'd ask. When I make my list I'll make sure I have the correct year, make, and model for each one. I've got the Honda Indentification book to help look up any questionable Honda #'s if you need any help.

It's a little disappointing. Response hasn't been as good as I was hoping. I am still gathing info for this project, and will let everyone know when it is available.

I've got copies of bills of sale for all of the trikes I've ever had (about 200-300 I'm guessing) would you want the info from those? Most were restored and put back out there sometime during the last 12 years. I'm restoring an 83 200x and an 85 250r right now, and I have an 86 250r, 86 350x and an 86 200x that are "keepers" I can send the info from those either way, but let me know about the others. It should be a real shot in the arm for your database.

Im having a small problem with identifying a 250r rolling chassis i have in my yard. The little id tag that shows the info is long gone. If I were to send you the vin number would you be able to decipher it?
Then I could part it out easier.

while i think this idea is great my machines are about twenty years old , i paid a fair price for them and alot of work but im not sure where the trike has been or came from because no title or anything like that so if i were to register it and find out it was stolen 3 owners ago somebody could legaly come for it? and that aint hapinin sorry!

There's no way a person wiill find out where you or your machine are. The location is just a city, province or state if you like....your choice....
Just looking for a general distribution area, that's all.

hey, i bought a trike a while ago, i was told its a 250 but i havnt seen any proof and cant find any stamp on the engine without removing it, all i know is its a honda trak, i would hav given all the info on it but the plaque from the steering column isnt ther. the bike needed a few repairs but few days ago something in the engine gave way and has siezed. all i can find at the moment is the vin stamped in the frame - jh31bo51_8_d323597. i could use some help with technical data on the bike to get it in top spec again, espaicaly wen i find out what went bang.

Ok I have a few questions.
1. would you like just my "ridable" trikes or all the salvage ones that I have as well?
2. I have 2 trikes that have been givin a makeover so I am going to sell them, do you want them as well?
3. What happens when someone sells a ATC that was registered? Do you go back and delete the information or just change it to where is shows that that ATC is in this area or what?
Main reasons for these questions is That I am attempting to build a salvage yard in the back of my store ( over 2000 sq ft. enclosed warehouse to play with ). Those bikes will be forever gone to the wrench and needs of other trikes. sometimes I get one that is good enough to get going again. So I may have them for awhile but they will be eventually sold. The only one that I know will stay around is my 86 200x. Sorry for the book but I just wanted to get it cleared up a little before I started sending you any information.

If someone sells there machine should it be removed or re-registered under the new owner? I was thinking there might be a few on there that are no longer under the current owners name
Mobular
01-04-2007, 01:27 AM
Good question.
One of the ideas behind this was to get a good feel as to serial number to area distribution and so on. I guess if an owner would like his trikes info pulled, I would do so.

Bump. Why don't we just make this thread a sticky? It's for a good cause. I know it's on the 3WW home page, but I'll bet a good chunk of us don't even go there that often to see it. I bet Mobular would be thrilled if he started getting countless emails for this cause. I myself think that not enough members know about the trike registry , because I was taking a look at it and there were hardly any Yamaha or kawasaki bikes on there, and I know from alot of the reading I do here, there should be many, many more trikes in that registry. Just my two cents.
