Yeah, I was there man. I was out on the dunes draggin the 450s and Banshees. I ran about mid or upper mid pack. I didn't see a stretched R. I was looking for you. I had my 86 Tri-z there and my 82 250R. I was in the retal property at the corner of ash and the 24 hr trail. There was a huge red big rig there with sand rails in it. I was actually one house down. My trikes were in the back. I met a guy there named Nick on an 83R. I'll be in the same place for the 23-26

I bet they will not let you have 2 people on that on the dunes. Machien has to be factory built 2 hold 2 people before they will allow 2 to ride it at the same time. Check the laws first.



Yes there are soem nice big dunes and bowls that you can ride in. Biggest dunes are I would guess 160' tall. Lots of big dunes to ride on and lots of sand trails to ride. Lots of areas on the edge of the dunes to get soem big air.

Those are on the trail, long ways from the sand. I prefer south campground, trees, closer to drag strip and at north camp or Cowboy camp the blowing sand is horrible.

Right now I plan on getting there early Friday afternoon. Spots should be available and especially weekend after Snakehunt might not be as crowded. I know okie and I usually pull 2 pickups and trailers into 1 spot and have plenty of room.

How many people plan on going that are from this area(Ks)? If everyone wanted to go in on it I would be interested in sharing a camping spot that is just west of powersports.

We need to get on .org and see what where everyone is planning on camping. I would rather stay with the large group. You know its not how fast you are but who has the best stories around the fire at night.

South camp sounds like a good one. we will be there on either Wednesday or Thursday and staying until Sunday afternoon. We'll have a few t3 in our group as well as a few others. I can't wait to meet everyone. Is there a breakfast spot in town where we can get a quick bite? Do they sell race fuel close by? 4 more weeks and its sand throwin time.

Call Mike at 580-430-9064 access properties to reserve primitive sites. He gives group discounts. Just a word to the wise. Buy what you need before you get there. There is only one small grocery store and the prices are outragous!!! Gas on the dunes is too. Buy it in town. Here is a vid I took with the helmet cam last weekend.

you can only ride double if the machine was factory built for it. thats the rules there

I think I may reserve a group spot just in case. Its always nice to have more room than not enough. Has anyone thought of ways to identify campsites involved with the rampage? Signage or something?

Yes north camp is right by the cowboy, north is the campground you ride past when going to the dunes from the cowboy.
Make sure you get the 10' flag. They sell some that are about 9' and you won't be allowed on the dunes with them. As far as riding doubles, you can do what you want after about midnight because the gate gaurds leave.:w00t:

If its not very busy they are usually at the gate for about an hour in the morning and thats it...There are park rangers ridin around on the dunes too tho..

hey guys, glad to see so many of you are going to try and make it. We are indeed shooting for the main group to be at the north camp. There are lots of tent sites, rv pull through sites, etc. I will be there wednesday evening with 200xbasket and maybe someone else or 2 to start staking out spots.

We'll be having some raffles and a big group shot sat @ 11am on the sand hill right at the corner where the whoop road splits coming into the dunes from the north camp. We're then gonna have a trike parade into town for some lunch. Should be pretty kewl. :w00t:

I would just buy flags when you get into town. They require taller than usual flags out there and they measure the height from the ground. It's a bs deal, but all the shops in town that sell them are in cahoots on the price which is around $25 I think but it's lifetime and a pretty hardcore flag so you'll be good for a long time with one.

It's gonna be full, but we can always blow up a matress or there's plenty of space to camp out in the back area. You'll have a place to shower and what not. It's right on the 24hr trail too. Ive stayed at the south campground twice, and like it over there. If everyone is staying in the North thats fine, as long as theres enough space for lots of us, and the other groups that will be there.

nope...north camp is the spot. there is good parking plus lots of tent sites and easy access into town as well.

Guys, this is looking to be one of the largest TECATE gatherings in recent memory. I'm bringing 2 or maybe 3. I know of at least 5 others that should be there plus several more maybes. I will be surprised if 12-15 don't show up. If you have a TECATE and are within 1200 miles of this ride then you NEED to be there. :beer

Yeah I think the North Camp will have a good deal there, as its the best place for those of you that have large rigs. They have pull thru spots to make it easier for you that decided to bring a house with you HAHA. Also you can ride your atv to town from there to get goods. And if you are in the south, you have to ride a couple miles to the north and then you would have to swap out tires as paddles wont do too good on the concrete :D . I think the plan is having a cool Raffle at the north camp Sat mid morning or something like that.
Sounds like there is going to be major amounts of green up there for sure! LOL

I'm adding a deck on my house and needed a plumber to get rid of a spigot that was in the way. When the plumber showed up, he mentioned my 200X in the garage.
Turns out you know him.. small world, huh?? He goes by turd tamer. He said you would remember him, and the older plumber with him. They used to be on a website called midwest trikers.
Both of them now run seriously fast Banshees. So I invited them out to Waynoka for the Rampage.

I'm jonesin' at this point, I can't wait to meet all of you guys.

Yep, I have known Bob for a long time. He said he is busy that weekend. I rode his drag banshee when it had right at 100hp, it would nearly rip your arms off when you hit 3rd gear.

Does anyone have a pair of 1983 200x rear hubs or 400ex hubs (4/110) they can sell me, by bringing them to the rampage? I bought paddles for the wifes 200x only to find out that her 200x has 4/170 185s hubs on it.

Help me friends... I got paddles and no way to mount them. Any ideas?

Redrill the wheels. Knock the studs out of the hubs put the hub on the wheel center tap the wheel and drill new holes. I have done this to several sets of wheels it doesnt take very long. I am doing another set this weekend.

I'm in! But it's up to the Rampage planners to set the date. Thinking they all had a great time too. I had a blast out there and look forward to the next trip. Major group rides are the best, and everyone should try and attend some. Respect is given.... and earned.
