i got my old r out today and finally finished putting it together, i mixed the gas at 32:1 with klotz benol, this thing smokes like hell and seems like every time you let off of it and get back on it you have to clear it out again, to rich right, but why? 145 main and 42 low will not idle for anything. i did a search on this so i drained the tranny oil that didn't help so that elimanates crank seals :wondering also has a brand new top end stock bore

I have never had that problem. Perhaps a clogged airfilter? Faulty ignition system? I am unsure of the stock jetting in an R, but it is more than likely a jetting prob. Put a new plug in and start dropping the main, and raise the clip on the needle on space, do this while performing plug chops. Or you could forget the hassle of jetting and go with a dial-a-jet like I am. Just jet your carb lean and the d-a-j will fill in the gaps and let your engine run at optimum mixture/efficiency by adjusting itself.
