are these fenders the same?

My buddy matt has a 83 atc 20 and and wants to order some new maier rear fenders. They don't seem to have them for sale seing as his are two piece! My 200s fenders don't fit his bike, my frame is flat and his has a hump in it where they bolt on. He was told that 185s and 200 rear fenders are the same ? Is that true cause he can get 185s maier rear fenders! Thanks - art

you can usually get nice 83-84 200 fenders off ebay cheap, unless you want new

yeah he wants the maier replacement fenders for his 83 atc 200 , and they aren't available , but the ones for a 185s are , and he was told they would work , just wondering if anyone had both machines and could see if it is true . do 185s fenders work on a regular 200 ?

No the '83 200 that you speak of has a trunk in the rear and the fender's are in fact split,meaning 2 sided..And your '81-'83 185s rear fender is a 1 piece that actually come's off the machine ,seat included.So no your '83 200 and '83 185S are not compatable.Even the 200S model fender's won't work to save you asking.You can use the 185 fender's though,I believe '80 being the 1st year ,but the earlier one's for the 185 ATC were orange instead of red.I do not believe them to be found threw any aftermarket dealer but they are somewhat easy to find on e-bay or a local salvage yard.But the 185 + 200 w/trunk are the same,the 185S differant and 200S differant all year's..
