XR200 & 200X question

What year XR200 engine parts will interchange with the '87 200X? Mainly reffering to cam and carb.

I don't think any will fit..... The XR200 never ran the style 86/87 200X and 200SX did. The XR never had a ball bearing cam to my knowledge, they swap with the 1st generation 200X models for a better cam and a 6 speed tranny. That is aside from the dual carb year that they had, might have been 85??

is the 200x a more high performance motor than the xr? i had a 86 xr200 and it was just about identical to my 94...sad

No, the XR engine was more powerful, it had a little more compression & cam lift than the x motor, & a six speed tranny,


Also, nothing XR 200 swaps with the 86-87 200x. 80-83, & 86-02 XR 200 will swap with first gen(83-85) 200x, hope this helps.
