maby somone can help me with that
im juste trying to know if my batterie is dead i can start the engine with the crank but the batterie do not charge so i want to test the alternator to know if its realy the batterie or the alternator ar dead

did somone know how to test the alternator on a yamaha ytm 200el 1984

Pretty easy with any bike, but it sounds like it's the alt to me. Install the battery and check the voltage at the terminals. Then start the bike and check the voltage again. It should be higher, in the 14-15 volt range if I remember.

Rev the engine, see if the voltage spikes, you might have a crappy regulator and that will burn out a battery pretty quick. Whatever you do, don't run it without a battery (even a crappy battery) installed or it will burn out.

If I remember the alternator on my 200ek was just a coil that is accessed under the engine cover. Pretty easy to change, but watch the wires, they get really brittle with age, especially around the ends. Cheers.
