Hey guys I want ot refurb and paint my rear caliper on the 250r. I have it all apart but how do I remove the pistons so I can clean it and replace the seals? Does anyone have a picture of a piston on the 250r? One of my pistons was open and the other one had like a cork filling in it? Whats the go there?
Thanks
Matt

the cork thing is not needed but if you are missing 1 i would take out the other one.
i use shop air to push the pistons out or you can just let them hooked up and take the pads off and pump on the pedal.

Use grease and hydraulically remove it!!
Sorry, hit enter too fast....
I crack the bleeder and pump it out with the grease. I always assumed that material between the piston and the brake pad is a heat resistant pad that keeps a buffer between the piston and pad. I've left them out numerous times.....

yeah its a buffer but i think none is better then 1...maybe not

IDK..... I always figured that because it's hydraulic, it wouldn't push any more or less on either piston with or without the pad so if they stay in - I leave em :beer

you right, the one with the buffer would just be in the caliper alittle more then the other.
