Does anyone have a tricked out Big Red? Any pics of ones with rare Hondaline parts. Maybe homemade or aftermarket extras. If you have them lets see them.

Here is my '84. Too bad it's for sale currently, I will miss it. It has a speedo and brushgaurds. It also has a basket for the front that isn't shown in these pics. and a windshield that I removed because it was cracked.
The tecate kid has the nicest big red I have ever seen with tons of add ons. Maybe he will see this and post up some pics.

Sure but it comes with a free big red!lol No sorry it has been there for 25 years and it goes with the trike. I've had a lot of people try to get those and the speedo off of it from me but I can't do that.

I know how you feel about parting with it. I know I will have a hard time replacing it, and I'm still not sure that I can. I would have done it in a New York minute to get my hands on yours :naughty:
Are you riding the bulls down there or are you the rodeo clown?.......Just kidding I know you are working and moving earth down there. I would like to have your job playing around all day in the dirt.
Sorry for highjacking this thread or is it Threadjacking:banned:

I was never a BIG RED fan until I joined the boards and started seeing more of them. Is the big red the most BEAST trike out there? Strongest for pulling and most heavy duty? I cant think of another so Im guessing so.

ScottZJ

I think the Big Red is the badest, hardest working, and most torque utility trike out there. The DX/DR are pretty good but the weight placement gives you towing issues and the polaris is a 2 smoker so alittle different power.

They look pretty nice to me and I wish I had a plow. The only snow work mine get's is sled duty!

man, to be rich.. that's cool though that you get to enjoy some history we do not. it's kinda bitter sweet seeing those trikes. nice to see these old things in such awesome shape, but sad to seee them not being enjoyed (riden and used but so is the life of a collection). I'm glad you do have them though. if nothing else, it gives us trikers something to look at ad dream about.

hey i don;t usppose you'd be willing to do me a small favor would ya? the 82 250r, would you pull it out and take a bunch of detailed photos of everything on it? i want to restore my 250r back to full factory origional (except maybe some internal engine mods at most) but there's limited photos out there. yea i can see the basic paint scheme, but what i'm not getting is detailed photos of a factory fresh unit that shows the everything from the front wheel hub, to the rear wheels. the photos will do 2 things. 1, help ensire anythign that is restored and pained is done exactly as it should be, and 2, ensure that the parts i'm using anre truely origional

i see the problem your going ot have is the economy doesn't really support your asking price. honestly i would not be supprised if it went to just over half that asking price. if YOU personally are that much attached and think to you it's worth that muhc, then you may not want to attempt to sell it. Yea there are collectors out there, but in today's economy they can buy one in a little less shape that that and have it professionally restored for probebly half your asking price.

btw, yea you did turn your post into a for sale ad.

Well to Brutes defense, I will most likely never take anything under 3500$ for mine. But as stated, the economy is hurtin so will be hard to find those few buyers that might be able to pay for it.

Well if you want all stock, that's mine, has about 500 km's on it now, but bought it with less than 400. Got it from an older gent and it actually belonged to his wife who passed away not long ago so he decided to sell it. He had one for himself that he sold a few years before. Sat in his garage for over 22 years. When he decided to sell it, it wouldn't idle so he took it in to the shop. They cleaned the carb and put in a new battery. Runs like new. I don't think I've ever seen one in this kind of shape, at least around here! I'd been looking for an 85+ in great shape for the last 8 years or so...they are rare animals around here...so when this one popped up I scooped it the next day. One of the best deals of my life! :D

Saul, If you put some smaller tires on the back it will look even more insane. Why did you do that? I'm not bashing you, just curious.

A guy was gunna just dump it in the junkyard cause the front end was thrashed beyond repair - so I took it and was gunna put stock forks back on it but got to thinking about making a LBC (low budget chopper) and before I knew it I was welding it up. Plus I figured it would make it a much better machine in the mud with all the extra ground clearance - and boy is it EVER one hell of a mud machine.

I get through mud that other Big Reds get swallowed up in.

And to be really honest - it rides and handles better then you would think - it looks sketchy but it handles pretty damn good!!
