if the timing is like my 250r there should be a cover on the right side of the bike. It is a smaller cover not the whole side cover. Take that off and there should be a flywheel (big magnetic round thing) bolted on a thing that comes out of the side of the motor that spins when you kick it over. If you take that off there should be a couple of bolts holding the ignition on the side of the motor. Loosen them and there should be an index mark ingraved on the motor and on the thing you just loosened. Line them up and make sure it is dead on. Then put it back together and it should be timed. But im not sure if it is like my 250r but it is a 2 stroke so it should be.
hope this helped.

there usually isnt a whole lot of adjustment either way...turning the ignition plate clockwise will advance timing.. turning counter-clockwise will retard... if you are think its really far off you need to check for a sheared or missing flywheel key..

i was gonan say ther eisnt much adjustment there . the timigh is in the ports for intake and exhaust but for the igntion ther eis just the little big f adjustment on the stator plate.

i dont know but i think smeone just turned the ignition plate cuz one of the screws are gone and the other loose. it is just hard to kick it over and adjust cuz the kick start turns back a little far from ware. so you cant get your foot to stay on

I would try to find the missing screw. It may be stuck to the magnets. Maybe it has already damaged the coils.
