hey everyone im new here i just purchased a 1983 200x ive owned trikes in the past (200es-ytm125) what im looking for is comments and advice on how to go about this build. Im hoping to find a 1980-1984 xr200 motor to keep it manual clutch but if I can get a 200s 200m or 200e motor i mite consider an auto x
im in Canada so if anyone in Ontario has any 200x parts ie: tank
or a motor please let me know, thanks

Not a bad start!! Hit up a salvage yard in your area if theres one close by, that would be your best bet and probably cheapest way of finding a tank and motor.

Also be on the lookout for footpegs, wiring harness, CDI, motor mounts, airbox, and an exhaust, I noticed they arent in the pictures.

I have the wiring harness, CDI, airbox, carb and both manifold for air box and from carb to head
missing is motor, rear brake pedal, chain, foot pegs, frame skid plate, and tank
at least from what I can tell anybody see anything else missing?
what about those mounts, could i use mounts from another 200 or 185 maybe the xr200?

The mounts are 200x only I believe. The only other thing I could think of is the bolts for the rear of the tank...they are a special type, the end of them is like a rod which a rubber cap slides on, and thats what the front of the rear fenders hold on to.

You should be able to find whatever you need by posting here in the classifieds or ebay. Alot of parts are dicontinued these days so you'll have to find used.
That guard over the master cylinder was an aftermarket part. kinda a pain in the rear because you have to take the whole lever apart to add brake fluid.

Have you had the cdi apart?? make sure it is in the right position. check the stator and make sure all the timing is correct, if everything is not firing fairly close to where it should be it could be your issue. I have been through it all with my machine. It would not be a bad idea to download the manual for that machine, you can find it out there they are accesible. Good luck and shoot questions if needed.
