How to bend your 250SX swingarm....

These pics have been floating around for awhile. Recently a few guys are rebuilding diffs/bearings etc etc so I thought I'd post this up.

I destroyed my 85 250SX swingarm and it bent it so bad that the axle splines stripped within the ring gear housing. This might be why Twilights was welded.

Then there was the 86/87 swinger that I took it a bit easier on in the 2nd photo. Last summer I needed to replace the driveshaft boot and guess what, that whole swinger was bent to hell again.

Just TOO many places that fasten together on these dam things!!

Poor little girl doesn't see much dust other than the dust that settles on it now :(

Just noticed my 85 swinger is cracked on the brake drum side. Time to install the NOS 86' swinger :)

I do feel bad..... It's a real fun bike. But, once you have a 250R or a 350X or a super MOTHERFARK'N racing 86 200X :D you just don't ride the old girl.

It stinks, because I NEED the room, and I just don't ride it. But, I have about 600$ into the engine alone and the 87 running gear, and the 200X front end and the 350X headlight....

I DON'T want to sell it, I bet I'd be lucky to get 800$ and I don't "have" to sell it but I just wish I had a 60x30 building at which point she could just hang out under a sheet and live on.

If I weren't nee deep in my 350X, I mite be interested in your 250SX. I want to replace my utility - sport trike I used to have. The 225.

We will see what this spring brings. If you have it still I mite be interested in it.

Honestly, unless I need the money desperately - I'll probably take the tires off and put it in my basement.

It's too bad - I love the red plastic with the OEM tank. The white Clarke got dull so I had to switch the color scheme but I think it looked best in that photo where I hitting the gulley jump with all red plastic.

I just HATE cosmetics!! It costs so much $$ to find a good metal tank, then coat it, then paint it that I get tired of trying to have "lookers". And every friggen sticker I put on gets blown of by the PW..... I ride, i ride often and I like to mclean it off quick and get in the house.

I don't have allot of patience................:D

I was always told elephants only jump once. After that they never jump again because all of their legs are broken from the landing.

DC you are 100% correct about why mine was welded, the guy came clean and said that he jumped it off a ledge that was about 8ft. My swingarm was bent to all hell when I finally CUT it off. I got another differential, swingarm, frame and axle from another memeber here, so today I am taking it and devoting it to the trike. This differential is stuck, but I am hoping I can still use just the gear, and replace the bearings that are still good on mine.
