Hey everyone,
I'm still wrestling with my 86 Tecate front brake. I cannot get fluid to bleed through the down AT ALL. I pulled the master cylinder off (again) and I noticed that the rubber boot on the plunger looks like it may be split around the metal part. (see pic).

1. Could this be the problem?

2. There is a 87 Tecate 4 rebuild kit on ebay, would this work?

3. Will a master cylinder from a KX or Tecate 4 work if I can find a used one? If so, what years?

Thanks!

As far as master cylinders go, you can make almost anything work.

Just get one from a dirt bike. It's a really cheap and easy upgrade. I'm not sure if one from a quad would move a different amount of fluid with there being 2 calipers and all.
