Tri moto problem!!!

I started my trimoto and let it warm up then while i was riding it it started klanking and it sounds aful

Does it only do it in gear or does it do in neutral to.

it soes it in nuetral, when i pull it over, and in gear

do you have haynes manual? Does it sound like it is in the transmission or the cylinder?

no i dont but i'm thinking its coming from the piston/cylindar area

I just thought of something try pulling off the pull start cover and seeing if something got in there? becaues there is a hole the size of a dime in the bottom of the cover to drain water out

Maybe somethings hitting the flywheel.

Do you mean that you worked on it today and it started to make that noise or you checked it after it started making that noise. Because I forgot to put the spring in the center of the starter pawl one time and it made a weird noise.

good news i checked it out and my magneto was just loose so i tightend that up and the sounds gone and my bike runs great

Make sure you use locktite on the nut so it doesnt come off again. Ive had one come loose while riding and screwed the crank and flywheel up beyond repair.

last time it happend it ate up my old pullstart beyond repair

ya i feel 100% better i thought it was my piston lol, well there is one down side the bottom bolt that holds the pullstart on was messed up so i pryed the case open alittle bit to look inside and it snapped but luckly i have a spare

Mine had the same problem and I never could find out where it was coming from it was a loud chattering sound it sounded like piston slap.

ya its a horrible sound, last time it ate up the plastic in the pullsarter and it sheered the little pin off where you put the magneto on, but thats all fixed now.
