Question guys my 86 atc 250r clutch was really worn. So i changed almost everything new clutch cable, new clutch plates, new push rod, new steel ball, new clutch lever, new push end cap a.k.a clutch lift cap. And still my clutch is the same. i have to adjust the cable all the way and it still barely pushes the pressure plate out. am i missing something here or doing something wrong? thanks for any help.

the aftermarket plates are thinner, I cant remember the remedy for this, hopefully someone else will chime in.

i use the trx clutches in my atc's it contains an extra steel and entra fiber. but the down fall is it is thinner plates. but it helps with heat dispersion too.

Thanks for your help guys. But what im describing shouldnt be soley affected by the thickness of the plates. After replacing all the parts mentioned above my clutch should be at least back to maybe 80%. And i adjusted the slack all the way on the cable. But the clutch still working like its almost gone. The point is when you press the clutch the rod is supposed to push the pressure plate out. But it barely pushes the plate out at all. Even with all new parts sorry if i sound frustrated its cause i am.

Not doubting your ability but are you making sure your clutch arm is back far enough . Mine points in between the carb and cylinder before adjusting cable. and parallel to my peg when adjusted. Juts a thought. Maybe it isnt pulling it far enough.

Fibers and plates installed correctly? Check your rod length to the old one then check clutch arm for wear. Did you soak the new fibers?

I remember I had this same problem years ago and I think it was either my rod length or I had the plates and fibers in wrong.
