installed my rebuilt carb, she fired right up!!

Just had to let someone know. I'm stoked. My 85250es I bought recently had serios starting issues, got a rebuild kit tore it apart and realized the last yahoo in there before me forgot to put all the pieces back in, and one of the pieces, the primary nozzle, does not come in the kit. luckily I have an old beater bigred, I tore that carb apart and stole the primary nozzle. Put it back in today and she fired right up.:beer


I think without the nozzle it was just dumping fuel through the main jet, and if you kept cranking the starter it would eventually ignite the fuel. I am suprised it started at all. now it starts fine, just need to get the idle dialed in, dont have a tach though. If anyone has a parts carb for 250 bigred let me know, so I can get the beater back running.

just thought I'd add that I got the trike for 600 less than original asking price, because the owner said he had been having truoble starting it lately, and It woud not start when I went to look at it. Now this guy was pushing 70 and didnt know anything about how to work on it, so obviously someone else did me the favor of cleaning his carb:beer poor guy was had
